Introduction

Verification Rules

IDScan provides on-the-fly configuration of verification rules.
It means that you can decide how and which findings after the performed checks affect the overall status of the application (Approved, Needs review, Declined).

Open the Customer Portal-> Go to Settings-> Choose Verification rules

IDscan supports on-the-fly configuration application checking rules.

It means that you can decide how and which findings after the performed checks affect the overall status of the application (Approved, Needs review, Declined). Also, you can just disable some checks if you don't need them.

Fuzzy Matching	-	IDscan provides an adjustable option of ’fuzzy’ names comparison based on Damerau-Levenshtein algorithm . This can be useful for reducing false negatives when users do not provide the exact spelling of their names (as shown in the ID document). It covers such cases as insertion, omission, or replacement of characters.IDscan
Swapped First and Last names	considerDescription: The applicant's First name and Last name are swapped	IDscan will flag out if the applicant's First name and Last name (if collected on the form or sent via API) are swapped with the First name and Last name values that are extracted from the ID document. If the applicants' profile First name and Last name are swapped when comparing with the First name and Last name values that are extracted from the provided ID document, set the application status to Needs review or Decline IDscan will not make the check of the swapped applicant's First name and Last name (if collected on the form or sent via API) with the First name and Last name values that are extracted from the ID document.

Date of Birth	considerDescription: Applicants Date of birth does not match Date of birth on the document. clearDescription: Applicants Date of birth matches the Date of birth on the document. Nationality code	considerDescription: Applicants Nationality code does not match Nationality code on the document. clearDescription: Applicants Nationality code matches the Nationality code on the document.	If the applicant's Nationality code does not match the Nationality code extracted from the provided ID document, set the application status to Needs review or Decline IDscan will not make the comparison of the Nationality code (if collected on the form or sent via API) with the extracted Nationality code from the provided ID document.
Gender	considerDescription: Applicants Gender does not match Gender on the document. clearDescription: Applicants Gender matches the Gender on the document. Country of residence	considerDescription: Country of residence: {Form} does not match {extracted} detected by IP clearDescription: Country of residence: {Form} matches {extracted} detected by IP	If the applicant's country of residence (if collected on the form) does not match the country detected by IP, set the application status to Needs review or Decline IDscan will not make the comparison of the Country of residence (if collected on the form) with the Country detected by IP address.
City of residence	considerDescription: City of residence: {Form} does not match {extracted} detected by IP clearDescription: City of residence: {Form} matches {extracted} detected by IP	If the applicant's City of residence (if collected on the form) does not match City detected by IP, set the application status to Needs review or Decline IDscan will not make the comparison of the City of residence (if collected on the form) of the applicant with the City detected by IP address.

No Document in image	No document was found on the photo considerDescription: No document found on photo.	If IDscan cannot detect and define the ID document on the provided photo, set the application status to Needs review or Decline
Document is not supported	considerDescription: The document is not supported. clearDescription: Document is supported for check.	If the provided ID document is not supported for verification by IDscan , set the application status to Needs review or Decline
Dark photo	A dark photo was provided considerDescription: Dark photo provided.	If the provided photo of the ID document is too dark for verification by IDscan , set the application status to Needs review or Decline
Glare on photo	A glared photo was provided considerDescription: Glared photo provided.	If the provided photo of the ID document has glare on it that affects the verification, set the application status to Needs review or Decline
Blur on photo	A blurred photo was provided considerDescription: Blurred photo provided.	If the provided photo of the ID document has blur on it that affects the verification by IDscan , set the application status to Needs review or Decline
Colour picture	considerDescription: Not a colour photo of the document provided.	If the provided photo of the ID document is black and white/not colourful that affects the verification by IDscan , set the application status to: Needs review or Decline Detection of not a colourful photo by IDscan will not affect the overall application status and possible checks will be performed.
Other photo issues	The ID document's photo has some issues considerDescription: Document photo has some issues.	If the provided photo of the ID document has some other not listed issues that affect the verification by IDscan , set the application status to Needs review or Decline
Original Document Presence Service: DocCheck(checks if a photo of the original document was taken)
Photo of the screen	considerDescription: A photo of not original document is suspected. Photo of the screen. disabledDescription: If an applicant has provided the ID document as captured from the screen, it will be counted as acceptable for the service provider and will not affect the overall application status	If an applicant has provided the ID document as captured from the screen, set the application status to Needs review or Decline If an applicant has provided the ID document as captured from the screen, it will be counted as acceptable for the service provider and will not affect the overall application status.
Screenshot	considerDescription: A photo of not original document is suspected. Two Document Uploaded	considerDescription: Two different documents provided.	If an applicant has provided pictures of different ID documents as front and backsides of the one he was supposed to, set the application status to: Needs review or Decline
Incorrect Side	considerDescription: Incorrect side.	If an applicant has not provided a photo of the front side of a 2-sided ID document (ID cards, residence permits, driving licenses and others), set the application status to Needs review or Decline
Missing Back	considerDescription: Missing back side of the document.	If an applicant has not provided a photo of the backside of a 2-sided ID document (ID cards, residence permits, driving licenses and others), set the application status to Needs review or Decline If an applicant has not provided a photo of the backside of a 2-sided ID document (ID cards, residence permits, driving licenses and others), and this is acceptable for a service provider, it will not affect the overall application status.
Cut-off document	considerDescription: Cut-off document.	If an applicant has provided a photo where the ID document is not fully visible (out of the frame), driving licenses and others), set the application status to Needs review or Decline If an applicant has provided a photo where the ID document is not fully visible (out of the frame), and this is acceptable for a service provider, it will not affect the overall application status.
Covered Photo	considerDescription: Covered document.	If an applicant has provided a photo where the ID document is covered (with fingers, other objects) that affects the complex verification by IDscan , set the application status to Needs review or Decline If an applicant has provided a photo where the ID document is covered (with fingers, other objects) that affects the complex verification by IDscan , and this is acceptable for a service provider, it will not affect the overall application status.
Corner removed	considerDescription: Document corner removed physically.	If an applicant has provided the ID document with a physically removed corner (usually being done if the document expired or replaced), set the application status to Needs review or Decline
Punctured document	considerDescription: Document is punctured.	If an applicant has provided the ID document with signs of puncture (can be found on no longer valid ID documents), set the application status to Needs review or Decline
Damaged document	considerDescription: Document is damaged.	If an applicant has provided the ID document that is visually damaged, set the application status to Needs review or Decline If an applicant has provided the ID document that is visually damaged, and this is acceptable for a service provider, it will not affect the overall application status.
Obscured data points	considerDescription: Document data points are obscured.	If an applicant has provided the ID document with visually identified obscuration of data points (First name, Last name, DOB and others) that affects the verification and data extraction by IDScan, set the application status to: Needs review or Decline
Obscured security features	considerDescription: Critical security feature is obscured.	If an applicant has provided the ID document with visually identified obscuration of security features (MRZ, holograms, MVI, etc) that affects the verification by IDScan , set the application status to Needs review or Decline
Abnormal document features	considerDescription: Abnormal document features.	If an applicant has provided the ID document with visually identified abnormal features, like overlapping text, additional objects like signatures on scans, etc, set the application status to Needs review or Decline
Watermarks digital text overlay	considerDescription: Watermarks that are not related to a document found.	If an applicant has provided a picture of the ID document with any digital signs or watermarks on it, set the application status to Needs review or Decline If an applicant has provided a picture of the ID document with any digital signs or watermarks on it, and this is acceptable for a service provider, it will not affect the overall application status.
Digital document	considerDescription: Document was published digitally.	If an applicant has provided a digitally published ID document that affects the verification by IDScan , set the application status to Needs review or Decline If an applicant has provided a digitally published ID document that affects the verification by IDScan , and this is acceptable for the service provider, it will not affect the overall application status.
Fraud assessment Service: docCheck(visual authenticity of the document-visual elements are correct and do not have signs of tampering)
Template	considerDescription: The document does not match the expected document template. clearDescription: The document does match the expected document template.	If the provided ID document does not match the expected ID document template, set the application status to Needs review or Decline
Face detection	considerDescription: Face on document was not found. clearDescription: Picture of the face is found on the document.	If a picture of the face is not found on the ID document, set the application status to Needs review or Decline
Picture face integrity	considerDescription: Picture of the face on the document shows signs of tampering or modification. clearDescription: Picture of the face on the document does not show signs of tampering or modification.	If a picture of the face on the ID document shows signs of tampering or modification, set the application status to Needs review or Decline
Digital tampering	considerDescription: Digital tampering of a document suspected. clearDescription: Document does not show signs of digital tampering.	If the provided picture of the ID document shows signs of digital tampering, set the application status to Needs review or Decline
Fonts	considerDescription: Usage of non-genuie fonts suspected. clearDescription: Fonts that used on a document are correct.	If fonts used on the ID document are not correct according to official ID document template rules, set the application status to Needs review or Decline
Security features	considerDescription: Issue with security features on a document suspected. clearDescription: No issues with security features found.	If there are any issues found with security features on the provided ID document, set the application status to Needs review or Decline
Consistency and validity of extracted data(dataExtractionConsistency) Service: docCheck(checks if the data in the document is consistent and valid in all places of its presence. For example, data in MRZ and on the Visual zone of the document )
Age Verification	considerDescription: Applicants age less than minimum required age.	If the applicant's age is less than the minimum required age, set the application status to: Needs review or Decline If the applicant's age is less than the minimum required age, it will not affect the overall application status.
First name	considerDescription: Applicants First name does not match First name on the document.	If the applicant's First name extracted from the visual zone of the ID document is not the same as in MRZ (when applicable), set the application status to Needs review or Decline If the applicant's First name extracted from the visual zone of the ID document is not the same as in MRZ (when applicable), it will not affect the overall application status.
Last name	considerDescription: Applicants Last name does not match Last name on the document.	If the applicant's Last name extracted from the visual zone of the ID document is not the same as in MRZ (when applicable), set the application status to Needs review or Decline If the applicant's Last name extracted from the visual zone of the ID document is not the same as in MRZ (when applicable), it will not affect the overall application status.

MRZ full	considerDescription: Applicants MRZ does not match MRZ on the document.	If the overall checksum for MRZ extracted from the provided ID document is not valid, set the application status to Needs review or Decline
Other	considerDescription: Other fields do not match fields on the document	If any other data (issue country, nationality code, gender, document type, etc.) detected or extracted from the visual zone of the provided ID document is not the same as in MRZ, set the application status to Needs review or Decline If any other data (issue country, nationality code, gender, document type, etc.) detected or extracted from the visual zone of the provided ID document is not the same as in MRZ, and this is acceptable for a service provider, it will not affect the overall application status.

Facial Similarity Check
Selfie Provided Service: faceMatching(checks if there is a selfie at the photo )
Is there a selfie at photo?	considerDescription: This is not a selfie. clearDescription: This is a selfie.	If the applicant provides a static picture of the face (printed out on paper, portrait on the ID document, photo of the screen) and not a real selfie, set the application status to Needs review or Decline
Match liveness	considerDescription: Faces are not similar between selfie and liveness	If the liveness check is activated in the user flow and the selfie does not match the face that was captured during a liveness check, set the application status to Needs review or Decline
Photo provided	considerDescription: Face matching is not possible: documents or selfie are not provided	If for any reason photos of the ID document and/or selfie are not provided, set the application status to Needs review or Decline
Is there one face at photo?	considerDescription: Multiple faces found at photo. clearDescription: One face at photo.	If more than one face was found at a selfie photo, set the application status to Needs review or Decline

Liveness check
Identity check in live mode Service: livenessCheck(checks if a real person tries to pass verification)
Liveness Service Signature Match	considerDescription: Does liveness service signature match	If liveness service signature match fails set the application status to Declined
Liveness check	considerDescription: Does liveness check passed	If Liveness check fails set the application status to Needs review or Decline
Match Liveness	considerDescription: Faces are not similar between selfie and liveness	if faces are not similar between selfie and liveness set the application status to Needs review or Decline

AML Watchlists
AML watchlists Service: watchlists(a detailed report of any records found during global watchlists screening)
Politically Exposed Person (PEP)	considerDescription: Politically exposed person is found	If any PEP's record relevant to the applicant's profile data in global databases is found, set the application status to Needs review or Decline If any PEP's record relevant to the applicant's profile data in global databases is found, and this is acceptable for a service provider, it will not affect the overall application status.
Sanction	considerDescription: Sanctions are found	If any record relevant to the applicant's profile data in global Sanctions databases is found, set the application status to Needs review or Decline If any record relevant to the applicant's profile data in global Sanctions databases is found, and this is acceptable for a service provider, it will not affect the overall application status.
Adverse Media	considerDescription: Adverse medias are found	If any relevant to the applicant's profile data mentioned in trusted media resources are found, set the application status to Needs review or Decline If any relevant to the applicant's profile data mentioned in trusted media resources are found, and this is acceptable for a service provider, it will not affect the overall application status.
